Put on your hard hat and strap on your toolbelt, it's time to build a road!
A hardworking team of construction workers have an important job to do: building a new road for a busy city! With their plans all laid out and with the help of some noisy construction machines, this building crew is ready to get the job done...and YOU can join them every step of the way!
Kids get to find out all the steps that go into building a new road: planning the route, laying the asphalt, even stopping for a lunch break! After all, it's hungry work!
The talented Brian Lovelock has filled the book with his signature illustrations, from the excavator dumping stones into the truck, right down to the telephones and fuse boxes on the lamposts.
There's also a handy picture guide at the end of the book, which shows all the equipment used (bulldozer, front loader, crane, etc), along with a few words about its role in the job.
If your kids are fans of TV shows such as Bob the Builder, they'll enjoy this story, the first in Sally Sutton's award-winning trilogy.
Overall, this is a fun and noisy tour of a roadworks site, with a lot of fun illustrations, and a must for kids who are obsessed with trucks.
