Get ready to make a splash with the smallest dolphin in the sea.
After being teased by the bigger dolphins for being small, Little Hector decides to head out into the open sea, despite the warnings of his friends. But when Little Hector ends up lost, he needs the help of a big new friend to help Hector find his way home...and teach him an important lesson.
If your kids are interested in sea creatures, they'll enjoy this story. There are two books so far in this series, but NZ author Ruth Paul has plans to write more.
Kids will enjoy reading about Little Hector's underwater adventures, like when he has a near miss with a boat's propellor, or comes face to face with an orca whale.
Meanwhile, parents will also appreciate this story because of its positive message about being happy with who you are.
There's also an educational side to the story too, as there's a bonus section at the end with facts about the Hector's dolphin (which is Little Hector's species), including why it is so rare.
Overall this is a fun and educational adventure story by a talented NZ author, and a great choice for your own nature-obsessed kid.
